My name is Caroline (pictured left) and I’m a proud member of the Gotcha family and LGBTQ+ community in Charleston, SC.
I met my wife 8 years ago in college when she sat down next to me in a “Human Sexuality 101” class. Of course we wouldn’t recognize the irony of that origin story detail until much later. We were friends for 2 years and post-graduation our relationship evolved in a way we didn’t expect. Once we were both available and actively trying (and failing) to deny our feelings for each other she said to me “all I want is a chance”. We soon found the courage to take that chance together and have never looked back.
Fast forward a few years – we took a chance to buy a house and adopt a dog. Last year we took a chance to quit our jobs, rent out that house, and bring that dog on a 4-month 20,000-mile road trip around the U.S. and Canada. Earlier this year we took a chance to get married with all of our 200+ friends and family there to share it with us.
I’m not sure what’s next for us, but I’m proud to continue to make the most of opportunities and allow the next chance we take to inspire our adventure and shape our story.
May you find something (or someone) worth taking a chance on.
