Might Be The President, Not My Leader.

Might Be The President, Not My Leader.

A few days ago, the National Park Service website for the Stonewall National Monument—a place that symbolizes resistance and the birth of modern LGBTQIA+ rights—was quietly altered. First, the word transgender was removed. Then, the “Q” and “+” disappeared. Eventually, we were left with an acronym that erased entire communities, a deliberate move in a long and calculated attack on trans rights.

Let’s be clear: this is not just about a website update.

This is about erasure—about the systematic attempt to strip trans and queer people of recognition, rights, and dignity. And it’s happening under the direct orders of Donald Trump, a president who has made it clear that he sees trans existence as something to be debated, denied, and ultimately erased.

That’s why I designed this shirt.

A Shirt as a Statement, A Shirt as Resistance

On the front, the Only Humxn logo—because our humanity should never be up for debate.

On the back, in small print, it reads: might be the president—a nod to the fact that, while Trump may hold office, his power does not define us. And beneath it, in bold, unmistakable letters:

NOT MY LEADER.

Because leadership is more than a title. Leadership is about protecting people, about standing for what’s right, about ensuring that no one is erased from history, from protection, from existence.

Trump is not a leader. He is an oppressor.

Why This Matters Now More Than Ever

This isn’t just about words being deleted from a webpage. This is part of a coordinated assault on trans and queer people. We’ve seen it in policies banning gender-affirming care, in attacks on trans athletes, in the removal of diversity programs, and in the rhetoric that seeks to delegitimize and dehumanize an entire community.

The trans community, especially Black and Brown trans people, have always been at the forefront of LGBTQ+ liberation. Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera threw the first bricks at Stonewall. They didn’t fight so that decades later, their existence could be scrubbed from history by a government that refuses to acknowledge them.

We are watching history repeat itself in real-time, but this time, we won’t let it happen in silence.

This Is Personal

As a queer-owned business, as a member of this community, as a human being—I refuse to sit back and allow this to happen without resistance. Only Humxn was built on the belief that all people deserve to be seen, valued, and protected. That includes trans people. That includes queer people. That includes every single person who has been told that their existence is something to erase.

Wearing this design is not just about making a statement. It’s about showing up. It’s about telling the world that we see what’s happening, and we refuse to be erased. It’s about standing together, loudly and unapologetically, in the face of oppression.

We Will Not Be Erased

To the trans community: you are real. You are seen. You are loved.

To those who are watching this unfold and wondering if they should care—you should. Trans rights are human rights, and an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.

To those who believe they can rewrite history, erase identities, and make people disappear—you can’t. We are still here. We are still fighting. And we will not back down.
